LONDON -- Alexander Gustafsson handed Jimi Manuwa his first MMA defeat in the main event of the UFC Fight Night card at Saturday night at O2 Arena. Mike Green Jersey . Gustafsson controlled the first round after getting top position on a throw, and came out much more forcefully in the second, buckling Manuwa with a Muay Thai knee, and finishing him off with strikes on the ground. "I was so glad to get a decision because my last couple of fights have gone the distance," the Swede said. "Jimi Manuwa is a tough, powerful fighter, so my strategy was to try and wear him down a bit and drain that power. I got grazed a couple of times and you could definitely feel how hard he can throw. I want Jon Jones next; I cant wait to have another chance at him." Michael Johnson unanimously outpointed Melvin Guillard. Johnson landed a left hook and a kneelift in the second round, in the best of the limited action. "I wasnt going to leave myself exposed, so I fought a smart fight," Johnson said. "Ive got the best stand-up in this division, and Im willing to show that against anybody." While Brad Pickett hit four slams on Neil Seery, but struggled to land significant strikes or submission attempts from top position, and certainly lost out in the kickboxing battle. Still, the judges decided that "One Punch" was the more dominant fighter overall, and unanimously awarded him the victory. Swedens Gunnar Nelson kicked off the main card with a commanding performance against Russias Omari Akhmedov, making him tap out with a guillotine choke. Tomas Tatar Jersey . Jose Bautista homered for the fifth straight game in the sixth inning, following a two-out solo homer by Melky Cabrera. Edwin Encarnacion led off the seventh with a homer to tie the game 3-3 and, with two out in the seventh, Munenori Kawasaki came through with the two-out single to score pinch-runner Steve Tolleson with what proved to be the winning run. Steve Yzerman Jersey . The Professional Referee Organization, which manages game officials for the U.S. Soccer Federation and MLS, notified the Professional Soccer Referee Association of the lockout and said replacement officials will be used. The Dallas Stars have signed unrestricted free-agent forward Ales Hemsky to a contract reportedly worth $12 million over three years. Hemsky was traded to the Ottawa Senators at the 2014 trade deadline after spending the first 11 seasons of his career with the Edmonton Oilers. In 75 games with the Oilers and Senators in 2013-14, Hemsky scoredd 13 goals and added 30 assists. Evgeny Svechnikov Jersey. He is coming off a two-year contract that paid him an annual average of $5 million. The 30-year-old forward has 146 goals and 348 assists for 494 points over 672 career games in the NHL. Hemsky, a native of Czech Republic, was drafted by Edmonton 13th overall at the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. Discount NFL Jerseys China Jerseys WholesaleWholesale Authentic Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys 2020 Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale Cheap Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic ' ' '

SAN JOSE, Calif. Bobby Ryan Jersey . -- Now that the Los Angeles Kings have made it halfway to a historic comeback, the task actually seems even more difficult now that they know how close they are. Jonathan Quick made 30 saves to shut out San Jose for the fourth time in his career in the post-season and the Kings staved off elimination for a second straight game by beating the Sharks 3-0 on Saturday night in Game 5 of their first-round series. "If anything, it seems a little more daunting because we came this far to get two, now we need to take two more," defenceman Drew Doughty said. "It puts more pressure on us because we can kind of smell it. We cant get ahead of ourselves. We have a lot of work ahead of us." Tyler Toffoli, Anze Kopitar and Jeff Carter scored for the Kings, who have rebounded after losing the first three games of the series. Quick allowed 16 goals in those losses, but once again is starting to look like the goalie who stymied the Sharks in a second-round series a year ago. Antti Niemi allowed three goals on 19 shots and got pulled for the second straight game for the Sharks. Perhaps more importantly, San Jose also lost star defenceman Marc-Edouard Vlasic to an upper-body injury after he was elbowed in the head by Jarret Stoll late in the first period. "We did a lot of good things for 3 1/2 games. Tonight was red rotten," coach Todd McLellan said. "Thats simply put. When we started the series, we talked about leaving games behind, closing the book on it. Theres no doubt well look at it. We have to improve. But its put in the bank and well move on." They may have to do it without Vlasic. He is questionable for Game 6 on Monday night in Los Angeles as the Kings are looking to become just the fourth NHL team to overcome a 3-0 deficit to win a playoff series. They finally broke through in San Jose after losing five playoff games here the past two seasons and 12 of 13 games here overall. But they will need to win here again to complete the comeback as Game 7 will be in San Jose on Wednesday, if necessary. The Kings came out looking like a desperate team and dominated from the start against the listless Sharks, who were unable to feed off the energy from a frenzied crowd hoping to see a fierce rival get eliminated. "We had a good start," Quick said. "We got a few shifts and we just tried to keep building on it. They came with a lot, too. They had a big pushback. Its not easy to win against this team. Theyre a great team for a reason." Los Angeles controlled the game on the ice, the shot clock and the scoreboard to take a 2-0 lead in the first period and mostly silence the crowd. The Kings opened the scoring when Tanner Pearson outraced Vlasic to a loose puck and fed a rushing Toffoli, who patiently skated around James Sheppard and beat Niemi with a shot from the slot to make it 1-0. The Kings made it 2-0 shortly after Joe Thornton was unable to bat a cross-ice pass from Brent Burns into an empty net. That fueled a 3-on-2 rush the other way and Kopitar knocked in a rebound of Dustin Browns shot. "Usually, we have really fast starts in this building and that wasnt the case tonight," Thornton said. "They started faster than us. Really, its a rarity around here. We just have to have better starts. Thats the bottom line." The Sharks responded to a 2-0 deficit in Game 2 that deficit with seven straight goals, but it was quickly clear that would not repeat when Carter banked a shot off Brad Stuarts skate for a power-play goal 22 seconds into the second period to end Niemis night. Alex Stalock came in and stopped 22 shots, but it was too late to save the Sharks in this game although it could make McLellan consider starting him in Game 6. "Well have to make some decisions throughout our lineup at every position because we werent obviously near good enough tonight," McLellan said. San Jose finally showed some life late in the second period, but by then Quick was on his game, robbing Brent Burns with a pad save on the power play late in the period. "I thought tonight was probably our best defensive game so far this series," Doughty said. "We dont want Quicky to have to stand on his head every night. We want to play well in front of him. We want to do things to make it a little easier for him. I thought we did that tonight but when he was called upon he was huge." NOTES: Niemi has been pulled four times in 38 playoff starts for San Jose, all against Los Angeles. ... Carter has points in nine straight playoff games dating to last season. Christian Jaros Jersey . -- The Los Angeles Dodgers signed Cuban shortstop Erisbel Arruebarrena to a $25 million, five-year contract Saturday. Chris Wideman Jersey . PETERSBURG, Fla.NHL commissioner Gary Bettman and deputy commissioner Bill Daly were in Seattle last week to meet with the citys top two elected officials. According to KING 5 News in Seattle, the two had private meetings with King County executive Dow Constantine and mayor Ed Murray last week in Seattle. A Constantine spokesman told KING 5 that the meeting between Bettman and Constantine was a "meet and greet" and that "nothing was really brewing right now." A Murray spokesman declined comment to KING 5, but Daly confirmed to TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun he was there to get an update on a new arena.  NHL spokesman Frank Brown also added the following to LeBrun: "Commissioner Bettman met with the Mayor while on the West Coast for playoff games. The purpose of the meeting was solely to obtain a status report on the new arena." Seattle has been a city Bettman has publiicly stated the league has interest in placing a franchise in, but hes also stated that Seattle must do more to land a franchise. Mike Condon Jersey. . In April, Bettman said the proposed basketball and hockey arena in Seattles Sodo neighborhood needs to get much further along before the league considers any expansion. Former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer and hedge fund manager Chris Hansen have agreed to partially fund a new NBA and NHL complex in Seattle, which is currently undergoing an environmental review. According to KING 5, city leaders and Hansen have indicated they are currently not willing to renegotiate the deal to allow an NHL team to prompt construction.  Sources have also told KING 5 that Constantine has privately been meeting with potential hockey investors over the last several months and that three different groups have expressed interest in owning an NHL franchise in Seattle.Discount NFL Jerseys China Jerseys Wholesale Wholesale Authentic Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys 2020 Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale Cheap Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic ' ' '

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. Michael Conforto Jersey . -- Juan Mata and Wayne Rooney scored two minutes apart in the second half, and Manchester United rallied to beat longtime rival Liverpool 3-1 for the International Champions Cup title on Monday night. Jesse Lingard added a goal in the 88th minute for United, which remained unbeaten under new manager Louis van Gaal. Rooney scored in the 55th minute, volleying home a long cross from Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez. Mata got the go-ahead goal shortly afterward, and United held on to capture the eight-team event. Steven Gerrard scored on a penalty kick in the 14th minute for Liverpool, which topped United twice last season in Premier League play. It was only a preseason game, but there is certainly no such thing as a true "friendly" between these clubs -- which have combined for 38 English championships and well over 100 trophies worldwide. And when Rooney got the equalizer, it was clear this was no meaningless match for him, either. Chicharito sent a ball from the right wing to the far post, with Rooney timing his run perfectly to knock the volley into the far side of the net -- then leaping and punching the air. Moments later, Luke Shaw found Mata at the top of the penalty box, and Matas quick blast deflected past Simon Mingolet for a 2-1 lead. After Lingard added the insurance goal, Rooney stood still for a few moments, his arms outstretched in celebration. The scoring opened in the 14th minute, on a play that Manchester United argued to no avail. Liverpools Raheem Sterling chased down a ball on the left side of the box near the goal line, as Manchester Uniteds Phil Jones scurried over to defend. Jones went for a slide tackle and while replays showed he appeared to make contact with the ball, the play also sent Sterling to the grass -- and referee Mark Geiger immediately signalled for a penalty kick. Gerrard went one way, Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea guessed the other, and just like that Liverpool had a 1-0 lead. That score was one of three blows United took in the opening minutes. Chicharito had a great chance near the goalmouth shortly after play got underway, failing to convert after being set up by Darren Fletcher. And not long afterward, midfielder Antonio Valencia was subbed out and walked off the field for evaluation after being shaken up. Then again, the early going also could have gone worse for United. Liverpools Jordan Henderson had a great chance on a header from about 6 yards off a set piece, sending the ball just over the crossbar. And about 10 minutes after the penalty kick, De Gea made a point-blank stop to keep United within a goal. Its the second straight year the tournament concluded with a high-profile title match in South Florida, which has a strong and diverse soccer following. Thats among the reasons why David Beckham, one of the sports biggest stars, has been trying to get a stadium built in downtown Miami for an expansion MLS franchise. Real Madrid topped Chelsea in last years final. Lenny Dykstra Jersey . Bryant underwent an operation in December to correct an irregular heartbeat. His season ended with four games left because of a rapid heartbeat, a condition he has known about for several years and had been treated for in the past. Jose Reyes Jersey . Throw in Ville Leino and Dan Carcillo.SAN FRANCISCO -- Ian Desmond had a career-high five RBIs and Stephen Strasburg won his third straight decision for the Washington Nationals in their 9-2 victory over the San Francisco Giants on Monday night. Denard Span added a triple and two doubles to help the Nationals win for the eighth time in 10 games. Desmond had three hits and Jayson Werth drove in two runs. San Francisco had its five-game winning streak snapped. Strasburg (6-4) allowed four hits over six innings and retired his final 10 hitters. He struck out seven and did not walk a batter, improving to 3-0 against the Giants with 29 strikeouts in 25 innings. Nationals starters have struck out 52 and walked one in their last seven games. Ryan Vogelsong (4-3) retired 10 of 11 batters during one stretch and pitched into the seventh. But he gave up six runs and nine hits, ending his three-game winning streak. Desmond, who owns a .373 career batting average against the Giants, also has an impressive .434 mark (23 for 53) with 51 RBIs with the bases loaded. His two-run single with the sacks full in the third gave Washington a 4-1 llead. Wilmer Flores Jersey. Desmond tripled home a run in the second and added a two-run double in the seventh. Werth drove in the Nationals first run in the first inning and added an RBI single in the seventh. He also scored on an error. The Giants scored their first run in the second. Tyler Colvin doubled with one out and came home on Brandon Crawfords single. Joaquin Arias added an RBI single in the eighth. Strasburg struck out the first batter he faced in four of his six innings. He also ended three innings with a strikeout. NOTES: Nationals INF Anthony Rendon (sore right hand) was out of the starting lineup for a third straight game. Hes expected to start Tuesday. ... Giants OF Angel Pagan was out of the lineup with a bruised right shin. ... Giants RHP Santiago Casilla is expected to start a rehab assignment at Class-A San Jose on Wednesday or Thursday. ... Rizzo hit a two-run single in the first that ended Wainwrights scoreless streak at 25 innings, and the Cubs beat the St. Louis Cardinals 6-5 Friday for their third win in four games. "Im not trying to do too much," Rizzo said. "See the ball and hit it, really try to swing at the pitches I want to hit, not pitchers pitches. Especially with Wainwright, his stuff is so good hes going to eat you alive." Wainwright (5-2) had allowed six runs in 45 innings coming in, but the Cubs matched the runs total in just five innings against the St. Louis ace, who gave up 10 hits. His ERA rose from 1.20 to 2.16. "They did a nice job of spoiling some pitches," Cubs manager Rick Renteria said of his batters. "Youve got to give them all the credit. They grinded out some at-bats today and reaped some benefits." Wainwright had been 6-0 in 12 previous starts and five relief appearances at Wrigley Field. "There were certain pitches today I didnt have good command over," he said. "My curveball was kind of sporadic in the zone and out of the zone, which is pretty rare for me. Its a funny game. Today was not my day. I accept that and take responsibility for today and move on." The scoreless streak was one inning shy of the career high for Wainwright, who had not allowed an extra-base hit since April 12 against the Cubs in St. Louis. "Hes been incredibly consistent through this season so far. ... You can see pitches were just on the edge and not where he wanted them or werent getting called," Cardinals manager Mike Matheny said. "Its a frustrating day when he knows our guys put some offence up for him and we just cant stop them. He limited the damage and figured out ways to keep us in it. We had some chances." Rizzo added a leadoff home run in thee fifth that put Chicago ahead 6-3. Ricardo Quaresma Jersey. . Welington Castillo had three doubles for Chicago, which sent the skidding Cardinals to their 10th loss in 16 games. Travis Wood (2-3) gave up three runs -- two earned -- and six hits in seven innings but allowed just one runner in his final three innings. Justin Grimm gave up Jhonny Peraltas two-run homer in the eighth, Hector Rondon pitched a perfect ninth for his second save. Cubs centerfielder Ryan Sweeney made a catch on the run in the eighth on a drive to right-centre by Allen Craig. Sweeney injured his right hamstring and was replaced by Emilio Bonifacio, who moved from second. "It was great determination," Renteria said. "Hammys hurt." St. Louis overcame its early deficit, tying the game in the third when Matt Carpenter singled in a run and scored on Peraltas double. Chicago loaded the bases in the bottom half on a pair of walks around Starlin Castros single. Ryan Sweeney drove in the go-ahead run with a weak grounder to second that allowed Rizzo to score from third, and Castillo followed with a two-out, two-run double. Castros throwing error from shortstop on Randal Grichuks grounder allowed Yadier Molina to score from third and cut the deficit to 5-3 in the fourth. WINNIPEG -- They put points on the board, now the Winnipeg Blue Bombers have to put fans back in the seats as they opened the CFL season with a convincing 45-21 win over the Toronto Argonauts Thursday night. Ryon Healy Jersey . It was a welcome change from the past couple of seasons as they dominated the Argos on both sides of the ball, although coach Mike OShea said they made enough mistakes to show more work needs to be done. Drew Willys debut as Winnipegs starting quarterback was nothing short of stunning for fans who have known little but disappointment the last two seasons. He threw four touchdown passes. "He just ran a good game. The No. 1 thing quarterbacks have to do, what theyre in charge of, is winning," said OShea. "He went out there and he helped win the game for us." OShea said it probably surprised some people. Willy had started only four games and won just one as a backup in Saskatchewan for the last two seasons. But the players, including Willy, said they werent surprised. The team has changed a lot from the one that went 3-15 last season. "I kind of thought I could do it but Im a confident guy," said Willy. "I knew if I went through my reads and did everything possible things would go right . . . We got off to a good start. It was nice on the first drive to score." Even Argos head coach Scott Milanovich praised Willys efforts on the field. "They protected the passer well and Drew made the throws that were there," Milanovich said. "Give him a lot of credit, that was an excellent first start for him." Aaron Kelly at wide receiver caught two of those touchdown passes as he opened his first full season with the Bombers with a 100-yard game. "Im going to change his name, Big Play Kelly," said OShea, who saw in a game what Kelly showed in camp. He joined the Bombers midway through last season. "I feel Ive got a good opportunity here," said Kelly, who entered his fourth season in the CFL and won an opener for the first time. He spent 2011 and 2012 with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. "I worked hard to win the starting spot here and just wanted to come out and start fast and help the team win." Penalties crippled the Argos, who had 22 to just seven for the Bombers, and 16 in the first half alone. OShea said they were a huge part of the game and noted one of Winnipegs, for too many men, led to one of Torontos touchdowns. Milanovich said his team needs to learn from the mistakes it made on the field Thursday. "Theres three things we point to that win or lose football games: protecting the football, penalties, and protecting the quarterback, and we lost every phase of that ..." Milanovich said. "We simply cant win with that many penalty flags." After a couple of poor seasons, Winnipeg has some work to do to bring back the crowds at Investors Group Field. There were almost 9,000 empty seats Thursday night and at 24,872, only barely beat the 24,000 who attended the Bombers pre-season tilt against the Argos three weeks ago. Bombers president Wade Miller could be seen walking through the stands personally greeting fans Thursday night. "As much as the players that have been here the last few years need this win, so did the fans and our players appreciate that," said OShea. "This community needs this. The players needs to understand that its bigger than them too." Cory Watson caught another touchdown pass, backup quarterback Robert Marve ran for a fourth, and defensive back Demond Washington carried a fumble in for a fifth. Canadian receiver Julian Feoli-Gudino, a former Argo, made it six with a seven-yard catch in the fourth quarter. CFL rookie running back Nic Grigsby ran for 122 yards on 21 carries for the Bombers. A 77-yard return by Brendan Smith set up Torontos only touchdown in the first half when Ricky Ray hit Jason Barnes for nine yards. They got another on a five-yard pass to Jeremiah Johnson in the second and picked up a single on a kick. Chad Owens carried a kick back 83 yards late in the second half for another Toronto touchdown to make it 45-21. Marves touchdown was set up by a successful pass interference challenge from coach Mike OShea, payback for a similar challenge from Toronto coach Scott Milanovich in their exhibition game June 6, the first time the new league rule saw action. Torontos defence couldnt put any serious pressure on Willy for much of the game and their offence was hammered by the Bombers, with sacks, forced fumbles, and intercepted or blocked passes. Ray and Willy both threw 12 for 18 in the first half but Willy turned that into 246 yards and three touchdowns. Ray had to settle for 141 and one. Willy finished the game going 19 for 27 for 305 yards to Rays 27 for 38 and 283. Trevor Harris came in for Ray late in the second half and Brian Brohm replaced Willy, although Willy returned for a few plays after Owens touchdown. Matt Joyce Jersey .J. - Pete Carroll is in support of the NFL looking further into whether medicinal marijuana could beneficial for players. Santiago Casilla Jersey . TSN Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie tweeted that its believed the Flames are working towards a new contract with the defenceman.MINNEAPOLIS -- The Cleveland Indians hope Wednesdays rally will help turn things around. Michael Brantley hit a sacrifice fly in the 12th inning and the Indians came back to beat the Minnesota Twins 9-8. Carlos Santana and Jason Giambi homered for the Indians, who won for just the third time in 10 games. Joe Mauer tied a career high with five hits for Minnesota. "When you get a win like today where you go back and forth ... its definitely crucial," said Mike Aviles, who had a pair of RBIs. Nick Swisher and Jason Kipnis singled off Ryan Pressly (3-3) to open the 12th. Swisher moved to third on a fly out and scored easily on Brantleys fly out to centre field. Chris Perez (5-2) blew a save but got the win. Joe Smith earned his second save, including a strikeout of Mauer to end the game. Santana homered off Glen Perkins in the 10th to give Cleveland an 8-7 lead. Mauer responded in the bottom half with a shot off Perez. The Indians, who trail Detroit by six games in the AL Central, were swept at home by the Tigers last week and then lost two of three at home to the Los Angeles Angels. After losing 3-0 to the Twins on Monday, Cleveland has won two straight. The Indians open a three-game series Friday at Oakland before playing three at the Angels. "We just need to keep trying to win series. I think the biggest thing is going game-by-game and hopefully the series will start piling up," Aviles said. Cleveland trailed 7-3 entering the eighth inning. After the first two batters reached base against Casey Fien, Brantley had an RBI single and Giambi followed with a three-run homer that tied it. "Im a strike thrower. Im going to pitch to contact, and today they got me," Fien said. "I left the ball up in the zone to Giambi, and he hurt me." Minnesota starter Kyle Gibson allowed six hits and three earned runs in 5 1-3 innings, the fourth straight start hes failed to go at least six innings. Josh Roenicke, Caleb Thielbar and Jared Burton pitched 1 2-3 innings of scoreless relief before Fien struggled in the eighth. "Caseys been lights out, one of the better setup guyys in our league, since we put him in that role," manager Ron Gardenhire said. Terry Steinbach Jersey. . Looking to build on the confidence gained from pitching one-hit ball in five relief innings last Friday, Cleveland starter Carlos Carrasco allowed 10 hits and four earned runs in 4 1-3 innings. Carrasco, who was recalled from Triple-A Friday, is winless in seven starts this year and hasnt won since June 29, 2011, at Arizona. "Consistently, from start to start he holds his stuff very well, but he just makes too many mistakes. A lot of times you cant get away with one mistake to good hitters. Theres times where he makes one or two or three during an at-bat and hes paying for it," manager Terry Francona said. Mauer, who singled and moved to third on a double by Justin Morneau, scored on a first-inning sacrifice fly by Josh Willingham. Morneau then scored on a double by Oswaldo Arcia. Brain Dozier and Mauer had RBI singles in the second to give Minnesota a 4-0 lead. The Twins went 6 for 13 with runners in scoring position after going 3 for 48 over their last six games. Minnesota entered the game last in the American League, hitting .230 in such situations. Mauer hit a two-run single in the sixth and Chris Colabello an RBI single in the seventh to make it 7-3. NOTES: Mauer has five five-hit games in his career. The previous one was July 26, 2010, at Kansas City. ... The Indians have signed Cuban free agent RHP Leandro Linares to a minor league contract and sent the 19-year-old to their player development complex in Goodyear, Ariz. ... While Max Pacioretty was celebrated for having scored the game-winning goal of the series, the Montreal Canadiens can actually attribute the work of their third and fourth lines as the key contributors for their first round sweep of the Tampa Bay Lightning. Earl Campbell Jersey . There is no argument that the line of Pacioretty, David Desharnais and Thomas Vanek was one of the hottest in the NHL leading into the post-season, and they did combine for three goals and seven points, but it was the depth of all four lines that helped propel Montreal. It started in Game 1, where the fourth line took control, led by playoff veteran Daniel Briere, and capped off with the overtime winner by Dale Weise. Along with Michael Bournival, the trio tallied two goals and five points in the series with a plus-4 rating. Solid numbers for a fourth line that features a centreman who now has 51 career playoff goals and 111 points in 112 games. Briere showed this series why his off-season signing to help bring playoff experience can be very beneficial to the Canadiens. The checking line of Brandon Prust, Tomas Plekanec and Brendan Gallagher added their share of offence with the energetic Gallagher leading the Habs in playoff scoring with three goals and five points. His line had five goals and nine points. Despite the balanced attack, the big story of the series was the resurgence of Rene Bourque and Lars Eller, two players who found themselves in chateau bow-wow on more than one occasion this season, and their lack of production earned them some time in the press box as healthy scratches. Yet Bourque found the style of game that Michel Therrien has wanted from him all season long, and after finding success, built his confidence as the series wore on. Last season, Eller was the Canadiens best forward heading into the playoffs with Ottawa, before he was knocked out of the series. This time around, Eller had started to pick up his play over his final few games of the regular season, prior to missing a pair of games with the flu. He and Bourque have both used the post-season as a chance to hit the reset button on their seasons, and so far so good. That line which includes captain Brian Gionta, who added a critical shorthanded goal in the series, led the Habs with six goals, 11 points and a plus-11 rating, showing they were responsible on both sides of the puck. So often, playoff success is based on a balanced attack and the chance for a different hero each night. While this series saw big saves from Carey Price, some excellent plays and big minutes from PK Subban, a solid defensive job on Steven Stamkos done by the Habs blue line, especially Josh Gorges, the series win can really be attributed to depth. Now the Canadiens will have a week or so off before facing either Boston or Detroit in the second round. Again, Michel Therrien will have a balancing act to work on; the balance between rest and preparation for your next opponent, while ensuring the Canadiens stay game sharp and not lose the momentum built from the first round. Adoree Jackson Jersey . The roster changes have been constant and continuous since late last year, but even with their 46-man roster set for the start of the season, the banged-up Bombers will be kicking off Week 1 with a handful of fresh faces and back-ups in the starting lineup. Erik Walden Jersey . -- The Jacksonville Jaguars are bringing back quarterback Chad Henne -- and making him the starter.TORONTO - Canadian assistant referee Joe Fletcher will work the France versus Nigeria round-of-16 knockout game at the World Cup in Brasilia on Monday. Roy Hibbert, Brook Lopez, Al Jefferson, Kevin Garnett -- no matter the night, it was going to be a long one for the Toronto Raptors rookie. And as Valanciunass debut went, so went the Raptors, it seems. "Jonas took his whuppin last year early," said Raptors coach Dwane Casey. "We were 3 and 19 (to start the season). (Opponents) saw something good to eat with a rookie at centre. That had something to do with our points in the paint, our rim protection. . ." But the growth of the young Lithuanian over the course of the season became one of Caseys biggest sources of pride in a campaign he otherwise didnt have a lot to be thrilled about. "He had to learn. We knew that going in, that it was going to be ugly," Casey said. "But as the year went on you could see a young man growing, and it continued through this summer. Its not a finished product yet but hes getting there and I really like what we have." What Casey has is a stronger, more confident Valanciunas, whose command of English is also much improved from a year ago -- evident in his attempt at rapping when asked on media day for his favourite Drake song. "Started from the bottom now were here," Valanciunas said in his Lithuanian accent, prompting much laughter. But Valanciunas, whos considered a huge piece of the franchises future after the Raptors selected him with their No. 5 pick in the 2011 draft, has been otherwise all business in his approach to his sophomore season. The seven-foot centre has put on weight. Hes noticeably broader across the chest, his arms are thicker. Lithuanian national team coach Kestutis Kemzura went so far as to say Valanciunas had put on too much weight. "His coach is a great coach, does a great job," Casey said of Kemzura. "But his gradual increasing his weight will be good for him. Were not trying to rush him to get bigger, just maintain his strength. Hes got some obstacles to go against in the paint, and if you dont have some girth. . . youre in for trouble. Hes learning to play with that extra weight right now so were not concerned about it." The 21-year-old Valanciunas made 57 starts for Toronto last season, averaging 8.9 points and 6.0 rebounds. His field goal percentage, rebounds and blocks ranked among the leagues top-three for rookies. He went on to shine for tthe Raptors in the Las Vegas Summer League, winning tournament MVP honours, and then helped Lithuania to its first Euroleague final in 10 years. Elias Lindholm Jersey. Hes healthy this camp, after a calf injury sidelined him for last years camp. And his teammates say the changes in the big Lithuanian from last season are obvious. "Hes extremely tanned right now. I dont know where that came from," joked Landry Fields. "Hes looking a lot bigger, a lot stronger, and more comfortable this year. "With him toward the end of the season last year, you could really see him get comfortable with who he is, and his role on the team, and I think with more practice, and the pre-season, what we saw toward the end of last year will come along at the beginning of this year." Valanciunas continues to take English classes and Fields said the improvement in his ability to communicate with teammates has been huge. "That is definitely something that will help him in his comfort level, and us with him, when we try to explain something, hes understanding. That just takes his learning curve that much higher," Fields said. "As soon as he gets it down pat to where its almost kind of slang, then well really be getting somewhere. Looking forward to that." Valanciunas isnt ready to talk about his rate of improvement, preferring to say he still has a long way to go. "If Im not going to work nothing is going to happen," he said, when asked for his thoughts on being the future of the franchise. "It depends how I work, and how is going to be my learning process. Im not thinking Now Im a future star. I know Im a simple guy, and I have to work really hard to one day be a star." Former NBA all-star and Toronto native Jamaal Magloire is helping him put in that work in a training camp all the big men say has been physically intense thus far. "Huge," Casey said on Magloires role. "He beats the crap out of J.V. every day. He gets him used to the contact. "We have some two-on-one drills where (Magloire) still gets in there and cracks people, they know its not like a little coach in there with pads on, its a real seven-foot guy who will knock you on your butt if you dont come in the right way. Jamaal does a great job of that, hes still in shape, and hes done a heck of a job of being a vocal and physical mentor to a lot of our inside players." The Raptors train Thursday in Toronto before departing for Halifax for two days. Stitched Jerseys Cheap Jerseys Free Shipping Wholesale Jerseys 2020Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale Cheap Jerseys 2019 Cheap Jerseys Wholesale Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

WATERLOO, Ont. Tug McGraw Jersey . -- Shanshan Feng is alone at the top but she has one goal in mind after the third round at the Manulife Financial LPGA Classic. "Im still going for 25 under," said Feng, not particularly worried that she has just a two-shot lead at Grey Silo Golf Course. Feng shot a 4-under-par 67 on Saturday to go to 15 under after 54 holes, a couple of shots ahead of Inbee Park and Michelle Wie, who finished at 13 under. Park came out of nowhere with a 65 to get into mix, while Wie struggled through her round but managed a 68. Feng, who said once again that she ignored the leaderboard throughout the day, admitted she put some undo pressure on herself after going 4 under though the first six holes. "Maybe that actually made myself to think a little more that I wanted to do better and I missed a lot of birdie putts, plus one bogey," she said. Feng added though, that coming into the tournament, she didnt stress about winning. "Last year, I missed the cut, so this year Im here just to have fun and try and play better than last year. I guess I did. I think tomorrow I will have no pressure. If youre leading in the tournament, I dont think you have pressure." The pressure did seem to get to Hee Young Park, who was tied with Feng after the second round but bogeyed three of the last four holes to shoot 1-over 72 and drop to 10 under. That opened the door for Inbee Park, who started off hot with five birdies on the front nine. "I played really well on the front nine. I holed a lot of putts," said Inbee Park. "I feel like I hit the ball great today. I had a lot of opportunities on the back nine also, but just missed a couple putts. I gave myself a chance for tomorrow." Just two shots behind, Inbee Park, the worlds second-ranked player, feels that Grey Silo lends to putting up a good score and making a run at her 10th career LPGA victory. "I dont know where Shanshan is going to finish, but I know there are a lot of opportunities on this golf course. There is a possibility we can go really low and Im just happy to be in contention for the final round." Wie, who had three bogeys to go along with six birdies on the day, is hoping that going 2 under on the final three holes will give her some momentum into the final 18 holes. "I think I tried to go too low in the beginning today. Im just going to go out there and you know theres birdie holes, if I just hit the shots I need to hit, birdies will happen. Nothing good will happen out of me forcing anything," Wie said. Despite the shaky round, Wie was in a good mood afterwards. "I broke a nail out there as well too, which I think I was more pissed about that than bogeys," she joked. There are still several players in the hunt, with Christie Kerr in fourth place after shooting 65 to go 12-under par. Lydia Ko (64) and Anna Nordqvist (69) are at 11 under. Four players round out the top 10 tied at 10 under. Hamiltons Alena Sharp is leading the Canadian contingent in the third round, playing a bogey-free round of 65 to move to 6 under and sit in a tie for 23rd place. Sharp credited her low score to changing her putter after the second round. "I brought the one out I putted with last year and won the Symetra Tour event at the start of this year with," she said. "I just put it in the closet for a little while and I was tired of my other putter, so I brought it out this morning and made a putt on my first hole and I was off to the races. The confidence was right there right away." She added that the weather also factored into her score. On Thursday, high winds wreaked havoc on scores, while crosswinds during the second round made players grind out lower scores. "Its really calm and it makes a big difference. The wind is a little bit different in direction and I think it makes some of the holes a little bit easier. Im just hitting it really well right now and driving it well, so I dont have a lot of long irons into the greens," Sharp said. Sue Kim of Langley, B.C., is right behind her today at 5 under after shooting a round of 67, while Jennifer Kirby of Paris, Ont., and Brooke Henderson of Smiths Falls, Ont., sit at 3 under after identical scores of 69. Nicole Vandermade of Brantford, Ont., shot an even-par 71 to sit at 1 over heading into the final day. Zack Wheeler Jersey . BUENOS AIRES, Argentina -- Argentinas national team was welcomed home Monday by thousands of fans celebrating its gutsy performance in the World Cup final. Corey Crawford Jersey . The team arrived in Buenos Aires on a plane painted with images of the players and a large sign reading: "Thank you Argentina." A river of emotional fans wearing the white and sky-blue striped jerseys of the national team, among them a group of Argentine gauchos on horses, flooded the road leading from the airport to the football association complex. "You showed that through courage, passion and bringing everything you have and more to the field you can triumph," President Cristina Fernandez said after greeting all members of the team at the complex with a hug and a pat on the back. "Youve given us values that Argentines, surrounded by so much triumphalism, thought were lost. Not only does the one in first place win; you also win when you show quality and manage to unite with others to go forward," Fernandez said. "Thats why I wanted to greet you today and thank you on behalf of 40 million proud Argentines." The two-time world champion entered the title match as the clear underdog after Germanys 7-1 thrashing of host Brazil. But despite complaints about lacklustre play earlier in the tournament, the team led by captain Lionel Messi showed grit throughout the 1-0 overtime loss to Germany, creating several opportunities to score in the first 90 minutes. "Im thankful to everyone. I would have liked to bring you back the Cup and to be able to enjoy it. We tried, we gave it our all but we couldnt achieve it," said Messi, who won the trophy for the tournaments best player. "Despite that, I think we gave a great joy to the country by reaching this final and facing our rivals without giving anything away." Argentina last played in a World Cup final in 1990, when it lost to West Germany. Four years earlier, it became world champion for the second time, led by captain Diego Maradona, also in a final against the Germans. After Sundays final, thousands of saddened but proud Argentines gathered peacefully at the iconic Obelisk in downtown Buenos Aires to applaud their teams best World Cup performance in 24 years. Cars honked staccato rhythms, firecrackers were tossed into the air and fans of all ages jumped in place shouting, "Argentina! Argentina! Argentina!" "We have nothing to regret, we played first rate," said 53-year-old Horacio Laseiras, carrying his 6-year-old daughter on his shoulders. Violence broke out later Sunday night, forcing riot police to use tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse vandals who threw rocks, destroyed store fronts, tore down street lights and even broke into a theatre. Parents with small children fled in fear. National security secretary Sergio Berni said 120 people were arrested. The Buenos Aires emergency medical service reported on Monday that 70 people were treated for injuries, including 15 police officers. The shot at the title united Argentines otherwise exasperated by one of the worlds highest inflation rates, an encroaching debt crisis and a corruption scandal that has penetrated deep into the presidents inner circle. Fernandez, whose approval rating has plunged in recent months, kept a low profile during the tournament. She declined an invitation to attend the final, preferring instead to rest ahead of a summit Tuesday, also in Brazil, with leaders from Brazil, Russia, India and China. Jonathan Toews Jersey . - Maynor Figueroa headed in a late goal to give Honduras a 1-1 draw with the United States in an international friendly Tuesday. Tony Esposito Jersey .Just like old times.Only this time, just one got to enjoy a victory.James return to Miami as an opponent was a success — for the Heat, that is. He injured his wrist while practicing on his home island of Mallorca in late July and was forced to drop out of the U.S. Open, where he was the defending champion. The injury in my wrist, as I said before, I cannot say 100 per cent because I still feel something when I start for the first five minutes of the practice, he told reporters in Beijing on Saturday. But in general the injury is not limiting me to compete.Nadal is seeded second at the tournament behind defending champion and top-ranked Novak Djokovic, who has a perfect 19-0 record in Beijing and will be aiming for his fifth title.Nadal said the Serbs record in Beijing suggests he will be the player to beat.Novak dominates almost all the tournaments, Nadal said. Brooklyn, NY (SportsNetwork. Ryan Kelly Jersey .com) - The second contest of the night played at the Barclays Center will feature the LaSalle Explorers taking on the eighth- ranked Virginia Cavaliers in a non-conference tilt as part of the Barclays Center Classic. LaSalle has opened its season up beautifully, entering this game with a 4-0 record. The Explorers downed Colgate and Quinnipiac to start the season, then defeated Saint Peters (59-50) and St. Francis-Brooklyn (73-60) in consecutive games headed into the Brooklyn. The Cavaliers, who were ranked as a one-seed last season in the NCAA Tournament, are already 5-0 to start this campaign. The Cavaliers have played four home games, but won their season opener against James Madison, 79-51, on the road. Virginia defeated Tennessee State, 79-36, in its last outing. These two programs have only met twice on the court in their series history, with both contests going to the Explorers. The last game that was played between these programs, however, took place during the 1958 campaign. LaSalle dominated St. Francis-Brooklyn in the teams most recent outing, and led by 11 points headed into the intermission alone. The Explorers connected on 46.6 percent of their shot attempts in the game, and were led by an outstanding 30-point, seven-assists performance by Jordan Price. Jerrell Wright chipped in with 19 points and nine rebounds, and Steve Zack notched a double-double with 14 points and 12 boards. LaSalle grabbed 44 rebounds as a team in the contest, and netted 42 points in the paint with 23 points coming off of St. Francis-Brooklyn turnovers. LaSalle hasnt been known as an offensive squad this season, as the Explorers enter the contest with Virginia netting 62.3 points per outing. But the team has been stellar on the defensive end, holding opponents to 55.0 ppg and just 33 percent shooting from the floor. Price leads the team with a 19.3 ppg average, adding in a team-best 3.0 apg mark. Wright contributes 10.3 ppg as the only other LaSalle player to average double-digit points, and adds in 9.8 rpg to his stat line. Speaking of teams founded on playing defense, Virginia allowed Tennessee State to score just 36 points on 29.2 percent shooting in the Cavaliers latest contest. Meanwhile Virginias offense was on the mark against the Tigers, netting 51.7 percent of its shots and grabbing 49 rebounds with 18 second- chance points in the lopsided win. Justin Anderson led the way for the Cavs with 20 points, while Anthony Gill chipped in 16 points with nine rebounds. Mike Tobey notched a double-double with 13 points and a team-best 16 boards in the contest. Defense is once again the highlight for Virginia, as the team enters the clash with LaSalle holding opponents to a meager 44.6 ppg average. Thats not a good sign for the Explorers, who are barely surviving some of these contests offensively. Anderson leads the Cavaliers with a 16.8 ppg average, while Gill is second on the squad netting 11.8 ppg. Malcolm Brogdon is the third and final double-digit point scorer on the team, checking in with 10.8 ppg for the Cavs. Tobeys 7.8 rpg mark in the highest on the squad, and Brogdons 15 assists is also a team best. Scott Tolzien Jersey .
